Hungary
Budapest, the capital of Hungary is seen as the ‘Paris of the East’, and is fast becoming the most popular travel destination in Europe. Budapest was created out of the unification of the separate historical towns of Buda, Pest and Obuda, and flowing north to south through the centre of the city is the majestic Danube. Budapest possesses a rich and fascinating history as well as a vibrant cultural heritage, while above ground Budapest offers striking architecture.
Being richly endowed with natural springs and thermal waters, the cities below ground treasures give it fame as the City of Spas. Among some of Budapest’s most precious treasures are its sixteenth century Turkish Baths, but also for its remarkable caves that were carved out by these same springs. There are around two hundred caves that honeycomb the city with four of the most spectacular caves available to visit.
