The Balearic Islands

The Balearic Islands

Mallorca – the largest of the Balearic Islands; it’s beaches consist of long sandy stretches to small pine-clad coves. The nightlife is diverse with the never ending happy hours in Magaluf to gourmet dining overlooking the marina in Palma. With it’s fantastic scenery, superb beaches, water sports and great variety or resorts Mallorca has something for everyone. The units are to be found in Palma, Inca, Manacor and Alcudia.  EHIC is only accepted at the units in Palma & Inca.  We can also arrange ambulance transfers to and from dialysis (milage limit).

There are many things to see and do in Mallorca. The Palma Aquarium is a must when visiting the island. It has been developed by Coral World International, who are renowned for creating beautiful marine parks in Hawaii, the Red Sea and Australia. Along with a multitiude of fish tanks, you'll find a large garden with play area for the kids and a huge jungle roof garden. Most exciting of all is the famous shark tank. It is 33 metres long, 25 metres wide and 8.5 metres deep - The Big Blue shark tank is the biggest in Europe making it a worth while trip!

Mallorca's Beaches range from long white sandy stretches to isolated rocky coves. Many of them are popular with tourists and locals, but it is possible to find a quiet peaceful spot off the beaten track.

Spend a day in the city of Palma - it is stylish, sophisticated, intimate yet bursting with life. Half of the islands population live here, enjoying the best restaurants, shops and nightlife as well as a thriving arts scene and a lively cafe society. Palma's masterpiece is its Gothic cathedral, rising out of the city walls which once marked the edge of the sea. Close to the cathedral is the old Arab quater, its maze of narrow streets hiding museums, palaces and exquisite courtyards - worth a visit to learn more about the local culture.

Menorca – with rich and varied landscape from rolling green countryside to beautiful beaches, makes Menorca a picturesque resort. Nightlife tends to be more relaxed than in neighbouring Mallorca, which makes it an ideal destination for those looking for a more laid back holiday.  We use have acess to two units one in the old capital of Ciudadella, to the west of the island. and the other in the capital Mahon.  EHIC is accepted in both, and again we can organise ambulance transfers (milage limit).

Largely protected from development, Menorca is not your typical package holiday resort. The island's small towns and villages offer a fairly secluded and relaxed holiday, even during the peak season. The island has many wonderful attractions, a real haven for nature-lovers due ot it's pinewoods and wide, lush fields. Cycling holidays are popular as the tracks cross over the meadows and pastures, offering breathtaking views of the island and the bay front. The north coast is rocky and rough, while the south coast abounds in sandy covers, with fine golden sands, sheltered by cliffs and gorges.

There are many attractions to visit when holidaying in Menorca. Why not visit the waterfront of the town of Mahon, which offers architecture, Balearic fishing vessels, and tour harbours.

Es Freginal Park is to be found in the heart of Menorca's capital city, Mahon. This green park has several areas to picnic in and see flower exhibitions. This is also a popular spot for countless cultural events - many world class musicians perform on the stage, particuarly during the Jazz Festival.
Also, a visit to Menorca's very own Xoriguer Gin Distillery. Constructed during the 18th century, it is situated at the Moll de Ponent dockside. This distillery possesses massive copper stills which are essential in the production of top quality Menorca gin.
